Ampelite is the largest and most experienced fibreglass and polycarbonate roof sheet manufacturer and distributor throughout Australia, New Zealand and Asia. The company commenced production from humble beginnings out of Melbourne in 1969, and today now operates from offices and warehouses in all mainland states of Australia and New Zealand.

Joint managing Directors, Mr Ed Verhagen and Mr Henk Verhagen, together boast over 80 years experience in the production and development of plastic roof sheeting and natural ventilation products. Together with key production and sales engineers, Ampelite provides authoratative product recommendations and support. The Ampelite range of premium grade translucent sheeting is manufactured to Australian Standards AS4256. Ampelite is of course an ISO9001: 2000 SAI Quality Endorsed Company.

This synergy has lead to Ampelite growing into one of not only Australia’s but Asia’s leading manufacturers and wholesalers. Key dates in the company's history are outlined as follows;

1990 – The companies first fully automated production line is commissioned in Dandenong, Victoria.

1996 – Production commences in Bangkok, Thailand.

1997 – Production commences in Auckland, New Zealand leading to the addition of further branches in Palmerston North and Christchurch.

2003 – Chinese manufacturing commences in Kunshan, Shanghai. Further Chinese manufacturing plants are commissioned in Chengdu 2004, Hangzhou 2005, Beijing 2006 and Guangzhou 2007.

2004 – Malaysian operations commence in Kuala Lampur and Jahor Bahru.

2008 – Ampelite commissions their 10th fully automated fibreglass production line in Mt Druitt, Sydney.
