In today’s environment of conservation, the reduction of energy consumption and the importance of environmentally friendly products cannot be overlooked. The savings and benefits in supplying natural daylight is very much an effective tool in preventing energy consumption. Heat penetration however can diminish the benefits derived from natural daylight.

This is where the Ampelite Dual Roof Anti Condensation System provides a solution. The system provides natural daylight whilst also ensuring minimum transmission of heat.

Sports stadiums and multi-purpose halls will benefit the most from Ampelite’s Dual Roof Anti Condensation System. Condensation forming on the skylight panel due to internal warm moist air meeting with a cold skylight surface is fully eliminated. Condensation will form on any surface having a temperature below the dew point temperature of the air under consideration. The relative humidity (amount of water vapour in the atmosphere) within a sports stadium can rapidly change with large numbers of occupants. At normal ventilation rates, a body of air will absorb moisture from the occupants at the rate of 50-60g/person/hour. This may result in a moisture content exceeding that of the external air by about 2g/kg of dry air. Therefore the risk of condensation forming on cool surfaces increases dramatically.

The Ampelite Dual Roof Anti Condensation System uses the fundamental principals of double-glazing to create a simple yet functional skylight system. Overseas countries with colder climates use complicated double glazed skylights to prevent heat loss. The Ampelite Dual Roof Anti Condensation System has specifically been designed for the Australian climate, with simplicity and ease of installation a high priority. Whilst the system is not unique in theory, in practice it provides a long-term cost saving and environmental benefit for years to come.

Ampelite premium Industrial grade "Dual Roof" fibreglass is manufactured in strict accordance with AS/NZS 4256 parts 1 & 3: 1994. Standards Licence No.986.

N.B."Dual Roof" incorporates gel coat surface protection as used for "Wonderglas GC" premium grade sheeting. The highest quality materials available and the very latest resin technology are used in the manufacturing process.

Sheeting Grades

Important: Heavier grades give the specifier the option to use Ampelite sheeting in cyclonic zones, or match the span of the nominated steel roofing material (see 'Spanning Capacity').

Safety Data

There are no ill effects from handling 'Ampelite' Fibreglass sheets as a finished product.

Some exposure to air-borne particles occurs on drilling, cutting and trimming of the material. Although there are no known cases of harmful effect, even after long term exposure, it is recommended to take certain precautionary steps.

Effects of exposure to dust particles.

Eye (contact)

Can cause irritation. Appropriate eye protection should be worn. If irritation occurs due to exposure to dust particles, wash eyes with running water using an eye bath or wash bottle. If irritation persists seek medical attention.

Skin (contact)

Can cause irritation. Shower thoroughly using soap and a cloth or sponge.

Inhalation (breathing)

Dust masks are recommended although particles are not respirable.

Ingestion (swallowing)

Non-toxic. Extensive studies have revealed no serious effects.

Emergency Fire Fighting Action

In the case of an indoor fire relating to stored Fibreglass Sheets the following action is necessary.

Use a self contained breathing apparatus.

Fire may be controlled by use of sand, carbon dioxide, dry powder or foam extinguishers, Water can be used to prevent fire from spreading to other goods or buildings.

Waste Disposal

Do not incinerate fibreglass off-cuts as burning produces acrid smoke and noxious, toxic fumes.
