Energy
Efficient Factory Assembled Skylight System (EEFAS)
Overview
Developed in conjunction with the
Kingspan KS1000 RW Roofing System, Ampelite Australia Pty Ltd has
created the Energy Efficient Factory Assembled Skylight System (EEFAS).
As a totally integrated composite structure, the Ampelite EEFAS system
offers many benefits over traditional single sheet skylight design.
The Ampelite EEFAS system offers excellent thermal insulation properties
and is designed to conform to the Building Code of Australia (BCA)
requirements for Class 2 to 9 Buildings, including part J.
The Ampelite EEFAS system is preassembled using the highest quality
components. With exceptional spanning and single fixing, the Ampelite
EEFAS system offers all the benefits of sandwich panel construction.

WEBGLAS GC (1)
"Webglas GC" is a
revolutionary Glass Reinforced Polyester (GRP) sheet that incorporates a
heavy gauge woven matting. At 3660 Grams per Square Metre (GSM).
"Webglas GC" is a heavy duty industrial sheeting offering exceptional
strength and durability. The glass mat reinforcement used in
"Webglas GC" provides continuous reinforcement in every direction.
The overall strength is such that "Webglas GC" has been rated as
trafficable and therefore safety mesh is not required.
The special Gel Coated (GC)
resin technology used in "Webglas GC" is highly UV resistant and is the
same as that is used for Ampelite's premium grade "Wonderglas GC", a
proven material used in many major projects throughout Australia.
"Webglas GC" is a low maintenance product and is guaranteed for a period
of 20 years.
LEXAN
THERMOCLEAR (2)
Lexan Thermoclear multiwall
sheet is a high quality, low maintenance glazing material that is built
to last. Manufactured in Lexan polycarbonate resin, it delivers
high impact strength, an excellent balance of low weight and high
stiffness and naturally "water-clear" transparency.
The multiwall construction
of Lexan Thermoclear traps the air between layers, providing outstanding
thermal insulation performance. When installed in the Ampelite
EEFAS system, the thermal performance is greatly enhanced.
SYSTEM
ASSEMBLY
The Ampelite EEFAS system is
factory assembled ensuring the highest quality of all combined products
are maintained.
The "Webglas GC" and Lexan
Thermoclear sheets are joined and sealed using high density Dow
Styrofoam panel core spacers. ColorbondTM side and end
support plates are added to offer stability and ensure perfect fitment
with the Kingspan KS1000 RW roofing system.

to the Ampelite Kingspan installation datasheet
PERFORMANCE
Clear Lexan Thermoclear
sheeting is provided as standard, if specific light and heat
transmission figures are required, other colors are available.
Please contact your nearest Ampelite office for
more information. The thick Gel Coat (GC) incorporated in the
"Webglas GC" sheet is impervious and offers excellent resistance to
surface delamination. UV and weathering, making it excellent in
harsh Australian conditions.

Installation
The Ampelite EEFAS system requires a
minimum pitch of 2 degrees. The maximum length available is 6500mm.
Exact lengths should be calculated based on steelwork plans / drawings.
Please refer to Span Table shown above for maximum spanning. For a
detailed installation sheet, please contact your nearest Ampelite office.
Warranty
The following benefits are
in addition to any rights conveyed by Government regulations and the
Trade Practices Act.
Ampelite Australia Pty. Ltd. warrant the Energy Efficient Factory
Assembled Skylight System (EEFAS) over:
-
A period of 20
years (pro-rata cover) for the following:
(a) The product will not allow water penetration through the
actual sheet.
(b) The product will not de-laminate or allow protrusion of
reinforcing fibres through the surface of the sheet.
-
A period of 10
years (pro-rata cover) for the following:
(a) Remain structurally sound and shatter resistant under normal
conditions. This includes fracturing of the sheet by hailstones up
to 25mm in diameter accompanied by winds up to 100km/hr.
(b) Excessive yellowing of sheets leading to loss of light
transmission exceeding 10% of the original light value when installed
below a latitude of 26° South
of the equator. Installations above this latitude will be covered
by individual warranty based on climatic conditions.
