When designing a purpose-built private aviation terminal at Melbourne Airport, aesthetics, functionality and structural performance couldn’t be compromised. That’s where LEXAN™ THERMOCLICK™ from Ampelite came in.
Profile Free Facades with LEXAN™ THERMOCLICK™ by Ampelite Australia
Architects today face growing pressure to deliver facades that are:
LEXAN™ THERMOCLICK™ addresses all of these.
At Melbourne Jet Base, over 3000m² of 40mm OPAL-tinted panels were installed across expansive facade sections. The system’s tongue-and-groove interlocking design allowed for seamless, joint-free spans with minimal visible framing — a major win for COX Architects, who prioritised a clean and elegant envelope.
Beyond the design, the 40mm panel delivers high thermal performance and UV protection, making it suitable for large-span glazed applications like hangars, terminals, and commercial buildings that face extreme temperature shifts and solar exposure.
LEXAN™ THERMOCLICK™ by Ampelite Australia
